Unfortunately, labels and judgments don't actually help us learn anything or transform anything. Discernment followed by clear and skilful response is not the same as judging and reacting. My teacher Richard Miller sometimes invites us into witnessing practice by reminding us "no shame, no blame". It's interesting to notice what we might not have noticed before, when we bring an attitude of compassion and genuine curiosity to how we meet ourselves and life, especially the things we struggle with or don't like.
